"We can always be better, and the people we elect can always do better. Aurora needs a transparent Mayor who will listen to ALL and make sure that City Hall is open to everyone. That's why I'm running for Mayor!"
- Marsha Berzins
I moved to Aurora in 1979 and in 1982 married Andris, an immigrant from Latvia. We are blessed to have five children, two son-in-laws and two dogs, David and Goliath. We’ve always lived in Aurora, have a small business in Ward 3 and go to church here. Our children have studied in public schools, charter schools, private schools, video school and homeschool.
I received a B.S. degree in Economics and Business Administration from the University of Alabama and Park College, graduating Magna Cum Laude. I’ve held numerous other jobs which include Electrical Contractor, Airline Customer Service, Human Resource Manager, Real Estate and Property Management and Retail and Accounting Clerk. My life has always been filled with volunteer work in schools, church and I served 7 years on Boards and Commissions for the city before City Council.
We deserve to grow up in a city that...
✓ Looks after our safety
✓ Creates an environment where businesses can thrive and grow
✓ Respects and encourages the rich diversity of languages, cultures, and backgrounds in Aurora
✓ Knows when to stay out of the way
✓ Allows our homebuilders to create an adequate housing supply that keeps home prices attainable for the middle class
